Interesting facts about tea drinking

It is a fact that China produces a large amount of black tea, however, green tea and flavoured tea and the most popular kinds of tea there. Brewing methods are various, depending on the region. In some region, teapots are used, similar to those used in the West. In other regions, a tea set consists of a small teapot and small handleless cups. Whereas the traditional method of preparing tea mentions brewing leaves in a haiwan (a bowl with a lid).
A guest in the house is always offered tea, a tea pot is always brought to the table in the first place in restaurants, in order to provide refreshment to the guests before the meal. After the meal tea is also served, since it supports digestion.

The Japanese still are most found of traditional green tea (especially in the morning and after meals, as a drink which eases digestion). Thousands or men and women still attend various tea schools in order to plumb the mysteries of the Japanese tea ceremony.

Tea in Tibet is considered as an almost holy drink. According to the tradition, green tea is prepared with salt – part of a tea brick is crushed and boiled for a few minutes, then the liquid is strained and poured into a can with goat milk or mixed with Yak butter and salt. The finished drink, called tsampa, is poured into the pot and kept hot over a fire. Usually, tsampa is served with a type of barley or corn cake.

The Egyptians, known for their love of tea, like strong and sweet infusions, without milk. In coffee shops, tea is served in glasses on a tray, which also features a glass of water, sugar, a teaspoon and sometimes mint leaves.
